As Directors, and other senior School Leaders, you have role which requires a certain distancing from colleagues. You may or may not have a professional network in your region, allowing you to discuss big picture generalities. But at the end of a fraught staff meeting, a contentious Board meeting, a meeting with a parent enraged by something a teacher said or did – who do you talk to?

If you are looking for personalized support as a director of an international school, this might be exactly what you need. I offer individualized online counselingand supervision services, designed specifically to help school leaders like yourself navigate the challenges and complexities of running an international school.

As an experienced and professional counsellor, I am well-versed in the unique demands and pressures faced by a Director, and can provide you with personalized guidance and the support you need to thrive in your role.

Whether you’re dealing with issues related to school administration, curriculum development, teacher training, or student behavior, I can support you in developing effective strategies and solutions that will help you meet your challenges head on.

You can connect with me from anywhere in the world, at a time that suits you. I am available for one-on-one sessions each month, in addition to ‘as-and-when-required’ contact when you need it most.

I can offer confidential support stemming from years of counseling experience and many years of international teaching and leadership. I have held the position of International School Headteacher, as well as a SENCO, Early Years Head, MYP Coordinator, Head of Student Support Services and School Counsellor in various schools. I have a good understanding of the intricacies of international schools and the nature of the leadership role. Support can come in the form of direct counselling, following CBT, ACT and IFS models, as well as in sound-boarding your more difficult decisions and their ramifications.

Counselling as a preventative measure for wellbeing is well documented. Early intervention helps individuals to identify potential issues before they escalate into serious wellbeing problems. Counselling identifies coping strategies which serve in times of stress and high-pressure decision-making. It can also increase self-awareness and understanding of emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns, leading to more effective communication and clarity in management decisions. Counselling can help build resilience; this can be an important as it can help individuals better cope with stressors and challenges that may otherwise lead to complex problems further down the line.

I am offering an annual contract for school leaders consisting of two hours per month of dedicated online support, with options to maintain email and other contact throughout the school year.
